The closer you look, the more you see.
I often marvel at the intricate details of nature. You don’t have to go far to see beauty close-up. Since it has been raining heavily this week I have been going through my archives of floral photos and found these.

I was fortunate enough to know a professional portrait photographer who could make me look good for my head shot in my online testimonial for the British College of Journalism.
Seeing that head shot gave me an idea for a series of the floral variety so here they are. Do you have a favorite?

Red geraniums always remind me of the beautiful window boxes in France. Striking clusters of beauty against the backdrop of brick and mortar.
I purchased a pot of red geraniums to add some color to our yard. Here they are!

Flowers can even make the mundane task of grocery shopping fun. I spotted this delectable bunch of fresh chrysanthemums and they just called out to me to be purchased for some photos!

Observing insects on flowers can while away significant portions of my day but it is a joyous pursuit when in produces an image I can connect with. Recently while on vacation near Lake Tahoe in California I was chasing a bee on some Cornflowers and this is what I saw.

The flower that inspired a name for a color. The first two images were taken of a plant growing in a pot on a main road in Monterey, California. The third image is from the garden next door. Wherever they grow they provide a vibrant and eye-catching display.
